THE BANDS
Cairns Brass comprises three bands -
Cairns Brass Junior Band
Cairns Brass Youth Band
Cairns Brass #1
The Junior Band consists of students from Government and Non-Government backgrounds who attend schools across Cairns.
As the young players improve in maturity and technique, they progress to the Youth Band. This is often a transition process with some players playing in both the Junior and Youth Bands.
When the students in the Youth Band reach the required standard, they are invited to participate in Cairns Brass #1. As with the Junior and Training bands, this to is a transition process with some of the students playing in both the Youth and #1 Bands.
