Conductor-Training Band

	Training Band Musical Director - Katie Sugden Katie Sugden was born and bred in Cairns and has been a member of Cairns Brass for more than 18 years. After graduating from Cairns State High School in 2000, Katie completed a Bachelor of Music and Education at Queensland University of Technology. She now spends her time as Head of Junior School - Music at St Andrew's Catholic College teaching a combination of instrumental and classroom music lessons. Katie has gained her conducting experience working with the many choirs and bands at St Andrew's. She has led the tenor section of the band for the past 9 years playing Solo Tenor Horn. She has also waved the baton in front of all three of Cairns Brass' bands. Presently Katie is the much loved conductor of the Cairns Brass Junior band who rehearse every Tuesday from 5pm to 6pm.
